Archiving

In the PCS 7 system, various types of data that are generated in the process can be archived. These data are process values, such as measurement values and messages.

PCS 7 provides the option to automatically create archive tags for properly marked process values. To do this, these process values relevant for archiving must be given the Archiving or Long-term archiving options in the Archive attribute. This attribute is configured in the I / Os of the programming blocks in SIMATIC Manager. If a CAS (Central Archive Server) server is used, choose the Long-term archiving for the Archive attribute.

When compiling the OS, PCS 7 automatically generates the archive tags if the Create / update archive tags option in the PC Station properties is selected.
